Doing something sensible in college- promoting open source!

Hi everybody.. First of all my greetings and respects to you all. I would like to share to you people something on which I am working on right now! You must all atleast know the word OPEN SOURCE .. the kind of operating system your LINUX runs on. Right now in my college, There is an organisation called GLOSS that is meant for promoting open source! This gloss is directly funded by SUN MICROSYSTEMS. And I ,being less technical, am presently in the promotion and publicity wing of gloss as an organizer.. My work is mainly to act as an interface between the interested people and the technical people! In this, i do a lot of pulic speaking stuff and it is a pretty good experience that I am presently experiencing. This is a very good launchpad for me to fine tune my crowd attracting and public speaking skills. Already , among my juniors , I have marked an effect! The feel of being a SENIOR is really tooooo good.. My respects to the person who ever introduced the senior-junior phenomenon. I seriously feel happy that I am doing something sensible in college rather than wasting my time!
And I would love to extend my work far and wide. But still, I do not want to bore people by speaking all about open source over this blog! So , anybody who is interested to know more regarding it, please mail me !

sony ericsson users .. attention please!

Hiiiiiiii... for people who have sony ericsson gprs enabled mobiles, there is a software called TSHARC .. this enables you free browsing in your phone! ONLY BROWSING! If you download something, your balance will start dwindling! I have accessed gmail, orkut and other common sites in it. All you need to do is have your mobile office browser profile settings in your mobile which usually comes by default with your fones these days! So, if you get that software anywhere. please do give it a try! It is totally cool.. This will provide you better entertainment than your mobile games!
And please do note that this software is only compatible with sony ericsson phones! For people who already know about this, no probs.. But for people who aren't aware of these kinda stuff, i will be regularly blogging about some simple ,but really cool softwares .. both desktop and mobile soft wares! give them a try!
At least let me try making my engineering useful to somebody starting from now...lolx:-)

That this blog can now be viewed by evreyone on earth. This is not very good especially when it comes to the privacy part of a family! Rite now, we cannot even share phone numbers over this blog! However this blog can be blocked from being viewed by people other than the authors! I'm going to put a referendum on the hostility on this site. When Ashwath created this post, the purpose was to be able to quickly communicate with members of our family. I think that was great thinking on his part and I commend him for thinking of something so useful. Let's not use this blog to air out dirty laundry and try to stir things up. That goes for people of all ages on this blog.

Also, another general note- when you respond to a post on the comments section, let's be mindful of the feelings of everyone else who will be reading it (which is EVERYONE in our family who reads the blog). By speculating about family dynamics with no basis, one risks causing unnecessary problems between people for no reason.

And the last thing I wanted to say-Ashwath invited EVERYONE in the family to author on the blog. Some of us encountered tech problems initially that prevented us from logging on; the problem was subsequently fixed. That's it. There's nothing to read between the lines. No more on this topic please.

Hello everyone.. There has been quite a lot of problems that i have been encountering lately. That prevents me from blogging.. but as it is... it feels good that many people have already started blogging. But i can see that most of the posts are from our 7th standard girls:-) ... nice.. but it would also be good if the others could actually jump in a bit bringing along some seriousness in the posts.. so that it is not used as a scrapbook , but as a blog spot.. thanks..

Hope you're all well. Just started classes again yesterday; will be starting my externship next week. Write in and let me know what you're all upto.

I know for a fact that Manasa was on Ashwath's original e-mail and I also personally fwded his e-mail to her again. There was a problem with the author invitations; I also had a problem initially. She might be encountering the same problem...I'll look into it now...

Yayyy I'm finally On!

Now I can post away and harass all of you all day long....how fun! And spy on you...all of you! My eyes are watching.

Why is the response so weak and slow???

Well.... There has been a really good response from the younger generation.. Already a team of 4 i guess! Good.. But the response from the elders is not quite impressive, i must say! I think, this has not yet reached out to many people .. Please do respond positively! And drop in your email ids to mine as soon as you can.. This really shouldn't be taking time to get started with.. And posts from the other authors are also welcome.. Let us give the start cousins!!

INAUGRATION

I am proud to announce the launch of an all new blog site especially for the most liveliest, grandest family ever ....OUR FAMILY !! This may be a little weird to blog on, but still, i believe it will be really fun to have something like this! I dedicate this to my great grandparents Mr.Pichumani Iyer and Mrs.Meenakshi whom i regard ,the main root of this humongous family tree. They are no more today with us, but still we trust them to shower their grace and blessings upon us from the skies!
Now, think of it.. Won't it be really fun if we could all post our recent achievements or something interesting which we would like to share with everybody? This will even have a better edge than all our telephone conversations! By doing this, we inform everybody of something that can be shared , thereby sweeping away issues of grudges and what not?... And hopefully we will also make all our eldermost family members feel proud that the rich heritage of our family is now making a fame-expanse all over the world! This can prove really useful when it comes to remembering birth dates. Somehow or the other, every single person's birthdate will be known to atleast one other person. If they wish that person over the blog, the others might too do it.. Just think of getting birthday wishes from everybody in the family!! There is nothing better than it! And of course, many of us do not know people who are distantly linked to us. This might even be an arena to know them better and bridge the gap between such families bringing them more close. If you want to socialize , i don't think we can go for a better option than this!
So i believe , you will all give your support to this new venture of mine to join hands with everbody in the entire family!
All that you people have to do is just send me your name with your mail id to my mail id which is ashwath.heart@gmail.com , so that i can add you as an author to the blog, only by which you will be able to post things over the blog!
And one more thing that i want you to do it, carry it far and wide to the maximum expanse you can, else it will be totally meaningless for people who are already in contact to again be in contact in a way that is merely new! As of now, i am mailing the link to all the email ids of those at hand.. It is upto you people to carry it out far and wide.. And i sincerely hope you will do it:-)
